Segment Disk Manufacturing Process

To manufacture friction discs, F.C.C. developed a unique segment disc manufacturing method, which greatly improved efficiency and quality of clutch production. In this system, a tape-like friction material is adhered to a core plate, and this leads to more efficient procedures and dramatically improved product yield. The oil groove patterns are highly adaptable to be able to meet various needs depending on the end product.

Characteristics of segment disc

The most significant attribute of the segment discs greatest is a highly improved product yield, leading to lower costs. This also leads to reduced production waste, an environment-friendly improvement.

A clutch product must satisfy various and growing needs, such as the needs for improved friction materials and thus less shock associated with the speed change (and more comfortable driving), and the needs for reduced friction when the clutch is off which contributes to better fuel efficiency. Segment discs have highly adaptable grooves that come in different patterns, and are capable of meeting such needs.

Examples

Various patterns of grooves can be manufactured, using different molds and dividing numbers.
